Yeah, fully agree and I personally had no issues with getting a minigun so soon, but I can understand the confusion about not getting any ammo post-Concord until high-teens to low-20's. (Usually because you checked a guide or found them on a second playthrough, which renders the argument moot.)
And one of the biggest (And in my opinion, most woefully misinformed) critcisms of Morrowind, was that it was too easy to find the highest level weapons right off that bat. Originally posted by Ruin:That's because they're considered higher level weapons (despite literally being handed a minigun in the first 5 minutes), and you won't find much ammo for them until later levels.īetter off sticking with pipe weapons, and double barrel shotguns, until a bit later.īack from Fallout 3, this was a design choice (Which I personally like) in regards to how Elder Scrolls and Fallout differ with their balance curves.įor Fallout, you can give players 'A taste' of the best stuff, because ammo can be limited (Fatman, Plasma Rifles, Minigun, etc) without completely stepping over the two dozen or so weaker weapons that should precede it in the hierarchy of progression.Ĭontrast with Elder Scrolls, where once you find that Daedric Sword, you're pretty much set.
